buy him his own sippy and make a fanfare with it. mix the milk with chocolate/ bournvita if he likes the taste, or banana or tea or whatever you think will turn him on. then in a NON FEED time, give him his quota of milk. continue breastfeeding till you (and he) will find he is too full to be sukling too much.
as long as he is full, well fed, with adequate nourshment, resisting makes them merely stubborn, so i have been told.

by the way, it took me nearly 2 months to wean- i had started the process when she was 10 months old, targetting her 1st birthday. we went 10 days beyond, but halleluya, we did it
aak replied. to stop feeding is difficult though 10 months is still small. i fed both my babies till 1 1/2 yrs.
any way if you want to stop feeding at night you have to be very firm and simply not feed any thing at night.
a 10 month old baby should sleep thru the night if fed well before sleeping.
make a firm resolve and do not feed him at night. he will cry for a few days but will soon get the mssg.
all it needs is a firm resolve and determination from you.
