Hi dear friends,
Howz u and ur little one doing?
Krish is doing fine. I have started to give him rice cereal and vegetales(gerber).
Now a days i think he gets very hungry. Actually i give him 2table sp of cereal in the morning and little bit of gerber vegie in evening.
should i increase the quantity of Cereal and veggie? or should i give him formula everyday?
i give him formula once in a while.
hey one more question ...i used to pump right breast 2 times in a day... now i do only one time at night ......but now a days i see that milk comes very watery(first 6 onces)then rest 4 -5 onces comes ok. so what u think?
is this ok to pump only once in a day?

ok..bye guys,
love to your little ones,
wating for ur reply,
thanks
sweety

Sweety,
I am not against Starting solids after 4 months infact I was thinking to but since his Ped advised not to, I couldn't dare to go against his advice. As I have survived for 5 months without giving him anything other than BM + Formula. Why not one more month:)
Anyways... I hope Arjun will not trouble me when I'll start solids for him.
Arjun is on BM thoughout the day. His last feed of the day is at 7:30pm which is sometimes 3 ounces of BM+ 3 ounces of Formula, or 6 ounces of Formula sometimes depending on how much reserve of BM I have for his next days feeds. Other than his last feed, all other feeds are mostly BM.
But every baby is different and so as their metabolism, so use your best judgement about how much should you give. I heard that giving solis late night helps babies sleep better, not sure how true it is.

Hi Sweety,
I differ a bit from Sheeja here. I have not started solids for Arjun yet as per his drs advice. Arjun is going to turn 5 months next week.
I would suggest that you can give solids to your baby after 3 months if you like and if he seems ready for it but you should make sure that BM or Formula should be his primary source of nutrition until he turns an year and it should not be cluttered amonst the solids. Thats what I heard.
I am also planning to start solids for Arjun after his 6 months appointment as he seems ready and started showing interest and grabing things.

Hi Sheeja And Arti,

Thanks for ur Reply.
Sheeja gerber Veggie(one ingredient)r first food...like squash, sweet potatos, carrots, sweet peas, etc.Written on the package 1st food.

Arti his pediatrician told me feed solid after 4 months if he like to eat. hE IS 4.5 MONTHS OLD.
some people say that we shhoud introduce solid after 4 months otherwise baby won't like to eat solid if u start to give him later.

I post this masg in dec board for Archie. So read that masag ....As u said Arti Archie also said that baby won't get all nutrients from soild ...that's y Krish gets hungry.

So Arti r u giving formula to ur baby everyday?yes then how many ounce?

thanks,
sweety

hi sweety

good that u started solids to Krish.yes, as u said my daughter is also hungry nowadays. as her appetite grows breastmilk alone is not enough.

im giving cereal in the evening. i use to mix 2ounce of formula with rice cereal. im mixing to a thick consistency like gerber foods. she likes to eat cereal.
i think u can give more amount.
hey i doubt whether gerber veggies is first food or second food??

right now im giving applesause, peaches, pears etc etc.

ok takecare
my lil one ic crying

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
