Its been quite easy for me as I have a Madella dual electric pump and a manual pump. Also I have my own office and spare pump parts and yes I do live pretty close to work 10-15 mins drive.
But my suggestion to you is take only as much pain as you can bear and don't feel guilty.

Hi,

Don't worry so much. Do you get ice pack in india, coolers kind of stuff for breast milk? In the US we get it when we buy the breast pump it self. You can store breast milk in that for almost 15-16 hrs like in fridge. Please try to get that.
About storing breast milk, this is how it goes 5hrs at room temperature, 5 days in fridge, 5 months in freezer.

Hope htis helps.
Vidya

Hi Manju,
You can express bm using a manual or electric breastpump or by hand also. Once expressed, you can use icepacks to store it in small cooler bags as Vidya mentioned or you can use a refrigerator, if you have that facility at work and use icepacks to carry it back home. Once you reach home, you can store it in your home refrigerator. It is usually good for 48 hours if refrigerated or upto 3 to 5 months if frozen. I usually don't freeze it and make sure that it gets used the very next day. Hope that helps.

Hi Manju,

Let me tell you, u r taking too much stress. Considering Bangalore Airport road traffic, first of all its hard to imagine how r u managing it.

I am not sure how ARti is doing but I beleive if u have freeze at work, can do so. As expressed milk can be kept out for 4-6hrs based on temp.

take care,
Sudha

Hi Manju,
I admire your feeling. Please don't feel guilty, I am agree here with Arti that you need to be relaxed so that can have more quality time for your kid.
Don't worry slowly everything will fall in place. My baby was on BF till 2.5month, now whenever I think back of those meories just laugh on my crazyness on arranging BF for him and see now he is more or less on cow milk, cerelac and other stuff. Only in the night between 8pm-8am (3-4times) I am able to BF.

I am also in Banglore, which place do you stay? Is your office close to work?

Take care,
Sudha

Hey manju,
I am also working and I also express at work for my son and yes I do feel great making sure that my baby is getting his mother's milk. He is going to be 5 months on 8th Dec and since last two weeks I started giving him occassional formula feeds. I never felt guilty about it as it gives me a well deserved break from time to time which rejuvenates me. Since last 2-3 days I had started giving one time formula feed to him daily before his bedtime. That way he gets a bit stuffed allowing me to rest for some more time at a stretch during night and that helps milk supply the next day due to proper rest.
I am giving him ready to use milk based formula - infamil iron fortified one. I think Formula is closest to breast milk and your shouldn't feel sorry giving it to your baby.

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
