Hey lalitha,

I am also travelling with my 14 mnth old son at the beginning of April. Which airlines are you flying? BTW what are you planning to feed your baby in India. I mean what kind of milk? I would really appreciate if you answer this. Some airlines only allow babies till 6mnth in the bassinet...

hai,
i am planning but not yet got air tickets and other things.
here i have started our indian food for my daughter so there in india also i am planning to give her the same food and about milk we use to give to my sisters child (who was born here)packet milk as doc adviced not to give cow's milk.
in journey i was worried about milk but after jaya's msg i am planning to take formula and 2 or 3 small cartons of whole milk.and i thought to take milk in flight and keep aside for some time so it will come to normal temp till that time i will give the milk which i am carrying.
and about bassinet i don't have any idea.i will confirm it when i go for tickets.
and also i am planning to take some gerber food, cheerios, fruit loops, gerber snack food, parle g bis.these will help me a lot i am thinking so.
i may be going in end of apl.
one more thing her doc asked us to have T.B test before we go and before 2 weeks she asked to come so that she give malaria and other shot for her.
to which part of india r u flying to.
have a nice trip and happy journey.
bye

Dear lalitha,

I have travelled with my 15 month old son to India. From my experience, whole milk in small cartons is available in the flight. But it will be cold. My son likes to drink cold milk and so, it was okay. At that time, my son also used to take follow-up formula. So, several times during the flight, I have requested hot water for mixing it and I always got it. To answer your question, you have to carry some milk with you that would suffice till you are on the plane.

Airlines normally do not provide a seat for children less that 2 years. So you can request a bassinet seat for her. You have to mention this to the travel agent at the time of booking the ticket. Also, mention this at the counter when you check in for the flight. Bassinet seat will be very convenient when your daughter sleeps during the flight and also when they serve food. You don't have to hold her in your lap.

Hope this helps. Have a safe trip!

Jaya
