Can anybody tell me what the rituals need to be done for annaprasanna ? I know I have to do on 6th month 6th day. I want to do at home. What shd I feed my baby with ?

i have done on 8th month 8th day for my son. i heard 6th month 6th is for girls and 8th month 8th is for boys. even iam from andhra.

i did annaprasana for my baby here at home just a month ago. the steps are u must cook rice pongal and feed to ur baby on that day, just baby the juicy substance. first of all , according to andhra custom, 1) place flowers,turmeric, and kumkum in a small plate, money and jewellery in another, god's picture in another, books and pen in another . u must place her a bit away from all these objects and give her time to touch them. note what she touches first, second , third and last. 2) if u call friends for the ceremony all the ladies must give her áarti'. 3) then u should feed her rice pongal. first her uncle if he is not present, father then mom and then all the friends. remember very very little quantitiy just touch the spoon to her mouth . that's it. hope i made it clear.
