I have a son who is 10 months old.. and my breast milk has reduced now..
But I wanted to feed him as long as I can.

Now the problem is this, innext 2 weeks I need to go on the road on a trip which will make me stay away from my baby. (it's actually going to be Mon evening thru Wed evening). During this time will I be able to be alright without feeding my baby?! If I do so, Will I able to continue the feeding upon my return back home as normal like now?!
The only option which I can think of is, Pumping but for my situation I will not be able to do that either. : (

What should I do?! Do I have to start the weaning process from now on to make myself ready for the trip?! I really don't want to do that anyway. I don't know for how long I will be able to continue feeding him. It could be max. 3-4 weeks from now OR it may end before I start on my trip which is going to be at the end of June. But whatever the case, I just don't want to start the step from my side on my own. Hope you all understand my feelings.

Pls. give me some suggestions on what can I do.

Yes, I too aware that you shouldn't be feeding the baby after 2-3 days, even if you can.
For me the situation is, yes, I have fed him for the last 10 months but not exclusively though. What I mean is since I am a working mother, I feed him only few times day and the remaining times he takes formula using the bottle and is fine with that. That's why I don't have much presssure if don't remove my milk for several hours. But I am not sure about 2 days though and that's what made me worry.

Like you mentioned, since the 10 months time is good and it's ok if I can't continue I have reduced the 3 times a day to 2 times a day schedule and hoping I will be ok when I am away from him. Once again thanks for your reply. Mom replied. Hi,

Pumping is the only way you can keep your breastmilk supply. But as you said you can not pump, so I think you should start weaning your baby right from now on, so that you will be fine before you leave. You can not stop breastfeeding for 2 or 3 days and start again. It will be very painful if you stop all of a sudden. Moreover people say if you stop breastfeeding for a day you should not feed your baby because milk becomes very thick. Check with your Dr. though.

Breast Feeding your baby for 10 months should be absolutely fine. You can put him on Formula, Formula has more nutrients.

I can understand your feelings about weaning. My daughter self weaned herself around 10 and half months she started the process from 6 and half months skipped each feeding and finally totally stopped at 10 and half months. I had the same feelings like you, did not want to stop breastfeeding, but could not force her.
