Due Date Club December 2005:Maggi Noodles

Hi All,
I was just reading posts from Sep and Oct boards about Maggi Noodles. I love Maggi and cannot down anything besides that sometimes. I have read the label but it doesn't say anywhere that it contains MSG. Can someone please clarify this? Do the Maggi noodles available widely all over US have MSG? I eat the standard \";Masala\"; or \";Tomato\"; flavor. Pls reply as sometimes it is the easiest thing to prepare, my 2 yr old also loves this.

well...many food products and restaurants today contain MSG in some form or other...it seems MSG has been a hot topic for some years now..but i guess it becomes really hard for them to ban it...
anyway...some amount is ok i feal...but during pregnancy i would say do not eat at all...

MSG is said to be under research for its effects on pregnancy...i read this...
\";MSG can trigger headaches, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or sleep disturbances. For this reason, you may want to avoid it during pregnancy. There's no evidence that MSG is harmful to a developing fetus\";

heres the link where u can see maggi contains MSG
http://www(dot)maggime(dot)com/english/faq(dot)asp
( Q3 : What is MSG ?)

maggi packets in US i think do contain MSG...but i think not all contents are mentioned on the pack.( u can look at the content sticker..i feal it just some formality they are doing and putting some main contents and sticking that sticker over there :) )

so it better to aviod then pay for it later...ist'nt it ?

even i had no idea on this beforee...but later i just researched and came to know the above stuff
I don't think thats a concern for your 2 yr old....

hope this helps...

thanks sk!! i did not know that! from now on i won't have it. it is funny that they claim they have good mfg stds and they use a substance that is openly harmful to developing children!!! someone should bring this light. i cannot believe that it is marketed as a kids product. i have seen chips like cheetos in the US having msg also. wonder why they don't ban it!!! ok, then.. bye!

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
