Due Date Club July 2005:Advait 4.5month update

Dear Friends!

As schedule we have taken Advait for his 4th vaccination (only polio drop this time) today. He was giving good smile to his Ped. while he was checking his nose and ear. He has been weighted 8.5kg (18.7pound), height is 71.5cm and head circumference 45.5cm. In every aspect he has improve from last month (I was thinking his weight or height might stop for moment)

Ped. has advised us to start fruits (like apple, banana), vegatables (like carrot, potato) and dals (toor, moong etc). On asking salty stuff like vegatables, he said no for timebeing. Just wondering when he will have any other taste then sweet?

As Bangalore is becoming colder day by day, Advait has little caughing issue, otehr then that everything is fine with him. Almost for 1 month we were not able to put him under sun as weather was always cloudy.

Yesterday he fallen down from bed (6inch height) and cried a lot but not hurt anywhere (atleast outser side).

He started recognising us. He rollover so mush that it became headache for us as the moment I feed and put on bed, he will rollover and spit some milk so we have to keep him on lap or in hand for sometime. He has not improved on movement front, but he pullup all his back upto 4inch, I beleive he is not able to learn how to move by putting pressure on hands.

Archie, if you read this, here is one concern, Advait is sleeping only on his stomuch and not on back. Whatever we try him putting on one side or other, after some time will find him in his fav. position. Is this Ok?

Thats all from my side.

Regards,
Sudha

Happy to know abt Advait's update. Amazing to see babies grow !!! Don't worry abt him sleeping on his stomuch. But make sure his nose is not pressed and he is breating freely. Even Lekha sleeps like that. She even moves around in the sleep. One night I was shocked to see that she was sleeping perpendicular to her original direction. From then onwards we make it a point to check how she is sleeping.

Enjoy this phase,

Advait is doing quite well for his age. I don't think sleeping on stomach is a concern. Infact Arjun's ped had advised us to do that, as it strengthens neck.
And you are right I quoted cms instead of inches for Arjun's height.

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
