my baby boy is 3.5 month old. at birth he was 2.5 kg weight. now his weight is 5.66 kg.
doctor says weight progress is ok. could you suggest me, how much weight should be increase month by month.
Thanks Hetal replied. your dr is local to the place your child was born and so if he is happy with your child wght progress,, your worry (as a mother is goood) but should not be a concern.

there are different standards/formulas set up as far as the age-wght ratios are concerned.

it depends mostly on the standards set up in that particular country where your child was born, which race he belongs to..and such other aspects,,so best thing to do, at your next appointment, ask your dr about :
1. milestone charts.
2. development charts.
3. wght n hght gain charts,,you can do this at home per week, until your child is 1 year..after that its every 3months, that you have to monitor.
4. and some drs also give food and nutrition charts,,,

so if your dr is happy about your child wght gain, be happy about it ! he has seen your child growth from the day he is born,and is local to the place he was born,, so he is the best person to guide you with all you need.
if you ask me, to me, his wght gain looks good !

also, after 8months, dont expect your child to gain wght at this accelratd wght gain !! it will reduce to some extent, and make sure to keep his fat and protein intakes(after8months) good enough so that he is able to deal with all the teething, toddler life with ease.
