Due Date Club December 2005:Please help

Dear All
I am in my 32nd week of pregnancy. For the past 3 days I have developed this rash all over my stomach. It is red and bumpy and terribly itchy. The nights are unbearable because I am unable to get any sleep due to the itching.

My OB/GYN sent me to a dermatologist yesterday who has diagnosed it as a possible allergy to the Palmer's anti stretch mark cream I had been applying for the past month.

She has given me a topical ointment called Atopiclair and also Eucerin to apply everyday.

If there is anyone else out there who has experienced this or has any thoughts/words of wisdom, it will help me to hear your feedback ... I am really concerned about my baby's health at this stage.

Thanks so much. SS

hi
i dont know whether what i am saying will help u still
my mom used used to suffer from food allergy.the dr used to give her medicines and cream because she used to ve rashes and her face used to swell up .onher hands and legs she used to ve rashes.she used to apply kokam (goan tmarind) water on it and as well have kokam juice.
also i think caladryl lotion she used to apply.
the kokam juice removes the pith from the body.
she used to feel relieved on its application and not itch for some time.
u can try there are no harms associated with that.

I had the same problem with my 1st pregnancy, lots of stretch marks and angry red rashes. My OB told me that it was probably some kind of food allergy. I later found that it was because of eggs, I used to eat a boiled egg everyday. I stopped that and the rashes went away. Only I had to put that stretch mark cream all the time, try putting it 4-5 times a day. Also, use a mild cleanser for your body, like Dove for Sensitive Skin Body Wash or Aquaphor Gentle Cleanser. Otherwise, even Johnson's Baby Wash is good. Try changing your diet, this could be because of some diary product or if you are non-veggie, then some meat. Think back to what you have been eating since these rashes appeared. Hope this helps......
Luv, Siya

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
