Due Date Club November 2003:Experience with CTG

Hi all
I had my recent checkup and had a CTG , it was a electronic tab like thing tied around your stomach usually down ,as baby's head is down these weeks .. and it measures the foetal heartbeat for about 20 to 30 mts and also checks for our contractions . It gives a sort of relief to hear little one heart beat and this can predict if it causes any distress to the baby like.. enough oxygen any placenta tied up around etc .,
I had been taking Dry grapes a handful everyday which really helped to boost my Haemoglobin hope this helps for others too .
Pelvic pain is a bit relieved when you try to sit on a rocking position , somtimes on a Gym Ball , which relaxes the pelvic muscles without doing any execises ( good for lazy ones like me )
Take care all ladies

Hey Preetu, you are right about the gym ball, it does take a lot of weight away from your pelvis and just sitting on it does the job...I heard swimming does the same..
The gym/birthing ball, according to my child birth prep instructor, can be used during labor to cope with the labor pains...she said that our hospital does provide them when requested during labor...

Like Simmi, it looks like my hospital doesn't do the fetal monitoring unlese needed...and yeah, like you and Simmi said it sure is reassuring to hear the beating heart.. :)
I have started eating raisins too.. I actually have the raisin bran cereal for breakfast and hopefully its been helping raise my haemoglobin levels a bit..
Simmi, I am sure everything will be fine.. you are doing all the right things, so you have nothin to worry about..

You Take CAre...

Hey Avi. Thx for ur wishes and glad to hear that u r eating raisins too. Well I was eating raisins for some time before. But now shifted to sultanas. Don't know the technical difference between the two however, hoping that the iron levels are maintained.
Take care.

Hi Preethu. Good to hear that you had a good experience with CTG. It sure is reassuring to hear the heart beat of the babes and feeling the closeness even more. Enjoy...
They don't do it in UK unless needed. They might do nearer the due date, I hope.
This dry grapes for haemoglobin is a gr8 idea. Let me go hunting finding it.
I have been having sultanas (kish mish) for iron levels, I think it helps though my blood tests will confirm this in few weeks.
I don't have a rocking chair or gym ball but will try to find something as my pelvic pain sure needs some relief urgently. Thx.
Take care.
Simmi

Diaper Service Provider,Bangalore
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
