Avi replied. Thanks you guys for all your responses and suggestions.... What would I do without ya'll....
I shouldn't be complaining cause I am sure all you guys who are planning on working till Nov must want to stay home and relax..
Vindhya,I used to be obsessed about playing Freecell too and I got over it...I might try playing another game...WE gave our XBox away to our nephew cause we didn't have the time to play it... but there are some cool games on Yahoo..
Ritu, you are right 6.5 weeks is not too long.. Yikes!!!!! and its great to know that you have had fun on your break.. You are right about not doing anything sensible too.... a plain old lazy bum is what I plan on being most of the time...thank you so much.. :)
Priya, I had to stay at work yesteday till 9 pm and I was checking out red door salon's services and pricing on the web....and then I see your message this morning....must be a sign... will surely take your suggestion and go for it..:)
preetu, I thought I would sleep in late today but woke up earlier than usual.... :) it's like during exams, all we want to do is sleep and then after they are done we cant seem to sleep.... I am sure you will have lots of fun from next week on..and like Ritu said, around 6 more weeks(+ or - 2 weeks) left..
Anita, I am glad you choose to volunteer.. you get to do some good things while you relax and rest... that is so cool...
Simmi, you can count on more than frequent updates from me... :) and I am glad you found an inspiration to get out of bed every morning..we are all honored that you give us so much credit... your hubby is right... do what you can and dont overexert yourself.. Nov 7th will be here before you know it... :)
Vandana, you are right...my hubby and I were more like roommates when I had my school and work... we would take off early in the morning and get back late at night and hardly get to spend anytime together.....Moreover, I was working on weekends too and that didn't allow us to anything together whatso ever.... and like you said, we will have more time to bond now than we ever did.... thank you so much for pointing that out to me....
Vandana replied. Hi Avi. I can relate to your feelings. Right now you may be feeling kinda lost with all the time that you suddenly seem to have at your hands, but believe me, you will love it :) You are almost there, just a couple weeks more.. so be glad that you are getting some time off unlike the rest of us. I am going to work up until the end too, wish I didnt have to but dont have much of a choice.
You've already been given so many wonderful suggestions to use your time. Just wanna add one more.. spend more time with your hubby, specially in weekends. I keep telling myself this, these are the last few days the 2 of us have together as a couple, we'll soon be 3 forever! So try to make most of this precious time with each other, do some fun things together and make memories:)
Take Care

Simmi replied. Hey Avi. I am working till 7 Nov and tell u what there r days well most days now when I feel like just snuggling in the bed and resting! But the only thing motivating me right now is coming to work and chat to u guys. Yes, I can do that at home too but to get out of bed, my inspiration is sharing thoughts with u guys.
The good thing is u can continue to chat to us and the more u can the better for us too. So we will try not to get u bored.
I am hoping to go for a film sometime soon, things I would miss after babes arrives, so you could do something similar too. Of course others have already listed loads of suggestions but I would only like to add....my hubby fights with me everyday that i am pushing myself and that i should just stay home from now on....so u have the opportunity make the most of it and enjoy!
Look forward to frequent updates from you!

Anita replied. Hi Avi:
I can relate to what u are feeling.I worked in a very stressful job right after graduating. But soon after I relocated to Singapore I got pregnant so I have not worked since then. It was boring in the beginning. But I kept myself busy doing some volunteer work with a wing of UN. Also made lot of good friends there. I was able to catch up on reading, music, concerts etc. I am sure we won't have anytime once the baby arrives.
So put ur feet up and relax!
Take care,
anita
Ritu replied. Hi Avi,
I am at home too and have been home since 8 weeks after I got pregnant (as I had a bit of bleeding and thought might as well take a break a few months earlier since I was planning a one year break anyhow ) Before that I had been working non stop for 7 years after I passed out of my engg. Believe me I have enjoyed every minute of it.
Mainly because 1) I know it's something that I have done by choice and not because I can't find a job or have been fired 2) I don't know when again in life (if ever I get one) I will get an opportunity like this.
You don't have to do any sensible stuff..just do what you feel like.. It's been ages since we even had the time to do boring stuff...the only thing is that you are in the final stages and will have to be careful and not go out or exert much..
I managed to do things I had not done since I was in school..make new friends , actually meet them everyday and yap, go for shopping, enjoyed the big sales in June, even learnt how to knit and knitted 4-5 things (my mom can't get over this one), ofcourse movies, books , etc....in terms of music i felt i listened to it more when i used to drive to work and back.....since i was quite fit im my second trimester I even cooked and had my husband come home for 30 mts. for lunch (i luxury i have never had ever..)..
don't feel weird and bored infact look at this as an oportunity might not come again for a long time..try and remember silly things which you for a long time have been wanting to do but never even thought about them as you thought it was impractical..
plus nov. 14 is just 6.5 weeks away, so where is the time to get bored..infact you have very little time..
Enjoy yourself and don't use the sad smiley to express your feelings..cheer up ..
Ritu
Vindhya replied. Hi Avi,
Feel happy that you are taking off at the right time. I would rather be at home sleeping than working. I know it is hard to spend time at home after having worked for so long.
I heard Albany has a good public library, why don't you borrow some books. Read some stories to the baby, he will definitely enjoy them. Or listen to music. How about movies or watching TV.
My favorite past time is playing Freecell. But, I wouldn't recommend this highly.
After Nov 14th, you will be wanting more time. The time you have wouldn't be enough. Your little bean will surely keep you occupied.
Take care,
Vindhya
Arshiya replied. Hey,
I know, it must be sad for you to stay home, but don't worry you will get used to it.
I get so bored sometimes but what to do no choice. Also, I try reading lots of books, watch TV a lot and sit on computer a lot too. In between, I take so naps or talk to friends at their work or at my work on the phone.
I also wake up on my own time in the morning, which is at around 9.
I bought lots of parenting books besides pregnancy books, just to get prepared for parenting.
I am sure your days will pass by and you will get used to the lifestyle at home.
Enjoy your days off from work, this is the only time you get to relax.
Take care
hetal replied. Hey Hetal, you are right about not having any time once the boy decides to arrives.... I should get all the rest I can now.. :)
I can also memorize the "what to expect in the first year" book, so that I know how to take care of him once he is out..
but it sure will feel wierd in the next few days to not have anything to do. :)
