How u doing?
Yesterday I met the dietician and also the nurse who teches how to check the Blood sugar.
From yesterday night started doing diet and checking the sugar level.
After dinner --109
Morning FBS-- 95
after breakfast (1h)---124
The readings r within the range and I'm happy. so far so good.
Yesterday afternoon when I went to the nurse at that time after 2h meal its 141 more than it should be may be its because of rice and dal I ate. So thinking to stop rice and dal also. she said dal got protein but that also comes to starch. Kind of hard to stop rice for me as south indian but has to do it for my sake and my babys right?
I'm kind of confused what to eat for snacks she gave 4snack times after breakfast, after lunch, bofore dinner and at bedtime. After breakfast and after dinner are ok but remaining 2 thinking what to eat. She told me to eat 1starch & 1protien(or nuts). popcorn can eat for some days but dialy I can't . U have any suggestions ?
Actually yesterday evening I ate 1dosa at one time & yogurt (yoplait it got sugars in that so want to stop and got another dannons which has artificial sweetener) eventhen the sugar reding is normal so I'm wondering can I eat or not.
Please give me some suggestions regarding diet.

hi susmita,

i am in my 32nd week of pregnancy due on 13th dec.. even in am having gestational diabetes. yes its difficult to stop eating rice completely.but do not stop eating dal.uts imp source of protein.

after lunch snack could be anything from sprout bhel or khakhra and peanut butter, or a small fruit with peanut butter or low fat thin buttermilk or maybe a handful of mixed dry fruits like walnuts & almonds .but keep in mind ,always have a protein included in whatever u have, even though its a fruit.

u ate dosa yesterday, but i would suggest u eat it with dal(sambar) or may be a peanut chutney( no coconut).
if u have any more doubt about diet i would love to answer u ..

These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine.
