Hi Archi and Girls,
Hope all of u are doing fine along with ur lil ones.
Am in my 30th week, and had my doc's appointment. Thought i have gained 1.2kgs in 3 weeks the fundal height has increased by only 2cms. Doc checked the fundal height its 23cms and my height is 5ft. When she plotted the fundal height on the chart this time it has gone below the average line. She said as am short and Indian by race this is normal. Am worried if my baby is gaining weight proprely and growing normally. Is there a standard chart for the week wise fundal height for Indian women?? Is this normal?Pl. advice me

thanks
chai

Chaitra,
there is plenty missing in your message to help you with.
what was the fundal height on last visit.
fundal height is not a good measure in third trimester and with that regards it would not matter what race you are! I don't think such thing exist like Indian woman and varied fundal height.

I think your baby is full breech and that's why difference in fundal height, may be resolved in future or not. However as long as you gain weight it should be OK.

you may have an ultrasound around 34 weeks gestation and you will confirm that time what I am saying.

Hi Archi,

My previous visit was in my 25+6 weeks and my weight was 57.4 and fundal height was 21cms.
This visit was in my 29+1 weeks and my weight was 58.8kgs and fundal height was 23cms.
The nurse could not make out if the baby's head was down or up.
Is there any way of changing the baby's position to the normal position. can u suggest me some exercise for the same which i can practice.
The nurse said if she can not make out the baby's position in 34th week then she will suggest for an ultrasound.

Pl. do let me know if u need any more details.

thanks
chaitra

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
