I am visiting india this jan and i have 8 months old babyboy. When i ask the travel agent about infant ticket , they say that u have to pay only tax which was 271 and then she said that 10% fair of adutl tax. I argue with her that why 10%adult tax because he will not have seat . so she said that it's rule. So i asked one of my frined who send his 6months daugher to india last year and he said that no u don't have to 10% adult fair tax. he said i paid only 225 total amount for my daughter. If anyone has just visited or buy ticked for infant, i will appreciate ur help regarding this issue. It is urgent because, i have to book the tickets in couple of days as all flights are mostly booked right now. so please give me ur advise according to ur experience. puja replied. yes, its true u have to pay 10% of the adult fare. But keep in mind while booking your ticket , you ask for a bulkhead seat for yourself. A bulkhead seat has more space and which has a small table infront to keep a baby baasinet. n u can ask for a baby bassinet to put your baby to sleep. Anu replied. Your agent is right. For the international flights,children under age two(without a seat) does pay 10% of the adult air fare. For domestic flights, they don't. That's the rule.
