Health Issues:Beating the heat

Name: michael Hi, My 11 month old girl has recently started getting boils and red spots on her body. The doc said its more like prickly heat. We immediately gave her a cold bath and kept her without clothes for most of the day. The red spots disappeared and the boils too reduced. But this thing repeats again the next day. Is there some way to fight the heat? She takes some water occassionally but I guess its not enough quantity. We tried sweetened water also. She also sweats a lot and her hair is almost always wet due to the sweat.
Anyone got any tips?

Give Yogurt/ Jucies apple orange carrot or any liquid Juice 1/2 juice & 1/2 water.Soups etc.
if you have aircon than 1 hour before sleep on it and than off it some relief will be there

Michael,

I am not sure where you live. My son has a similar problem when I visit my mother in Madras. I have a tried a few things to help him.
- Allow as much cross ventilation as possible. If resources permit, keep her in an a/c environment during the very hot hours.
- Sandalwood paste helps to keep the body cool
- I have tried Lacto-Calamine lotion
- My son has a similar disinterest in drinking water. Just keep it (either in bottle or sippy cup) openly available wherever your daughter is playing. Keep trying every 30 - 60 mins. I find that he is more willing to drink cold water. Since it is summer, I don't worry too much about his catching a cold.
- Give him cool yogurt whenever he is ready to consume it.

There is a definite improvement in the prickly heat.
