I'm at US. my baby is 5 months old .she is suffering from Eczema.i'm using Elidel,DoveSoap,& Lubriderm moisturing cream for her,she's irritating & scratching always on her hands,legs & head. could anybody give ur ideas for my baby's suffering? what i should do to get cure of Eczema? whatelse i may do? please mail me details as quickly.Thanks ! You have some excellent advises here. I would like to add one suggestion though. If your baby is on the formula switch him/her to an hypoallergenic one e.g nutramigen or alimentum. Nothing worked for my daughter until I did this at 6 months of age. Obviously she must have been allergic to milk. Your doctor might have samples to give you or call up the companies and they'll send you free samples. Good Luck! Mona replied. I agree with Jyoti. She will most likely outgrow it. Few points
- Till he was 12 months old, I did not use any soap on him (not even Cetaphil). They do not sweat too much any way during the early months.
- Make sure his bath water which is not too hot.
- I found sesame oil (the one available in Indian stores) to be very good. I would apply a small amount AFTER his bath. It helped to retain the moisture in his skin.
- Keep her finger nails trimmed and filed to avoid bad scratches

In my son's case, I did not find any relationship between what I ate and his eczema. jyoti vyas replied. Hi
When my son was 4 months old he was diagnosed with eczema, now he is 7 and half months old. He was exclusively breast fed for four months.
From last two months his rashes have disappeared. May be it is the weather.I am not sure exacly what worked. I just wish it never comes back.

This is what I did for first three weeks :
1.1st two days I put 0.5% hydrocotison 2 times a day to clear all rashes
2.Bath him with cetaphil every day not more then 5 minutes. (Still I do this )
3.Use \";New Baby aveeno\"; 4 times daily --After bath, before bed and early morining and in between once. (Now I use only once a day).
3. No sour thing in my diet-like tomatoe, vinegar etc.
I made a food diary for myself what I was eating.I figured out that my son has flare up when I eat tomatoe. So I stopped eating any sour thing.( I feel this is most important)
4. Put humidifier in his room. (Now days I don't put the humidifier)
5.Dress him up in 100% cotton
6.No heater or AC ( we are not using heaters and AC ever since he was diagnosed till date)
7. Wash his clothes and sheets in dreft detergent

It is known that most babies (50%)outgrow eczema when they are 9-18 months (I read it in a book called 'what to expect in the first year') or sometimes when they drink water and starts walking they out grow it.
Also type it on in google \";eczema forum\"; and you will see immense of information on that forum. May be you are already been to that website
