My boy is 5 months old and was born 4 wks early.
For the last couple of weeks he has not been eating well. He is taking between 18-22 ounces a day, which is 8-10 ounces less than what he used to take. He had issues with constipation and is now better w/ frml change(goodstart).
He takes first 2-3 oz as if he is so hungry and starts refusing from then on. just a week back he caught virus or some thing from pedeac. visit.
We want to know what might be reason(s) for not eating well. Do we have to make any changes with formula and also wanted to start solids but thought it may not be a good idea to do so when he is not eating his formula. Any one of you had experience with tummy aches, stomach bug that irritates him. Please comment or advise if any of you had similar issues.

How long does it take to get over from nasal congestion for a baby that small.

I think you should not start solids right now. You can wait for couple of more weeks..bcos soilds can be even more constipating.
Nasal congestion takes a while for little baby to cure. Try to put on the cool mist humidiifer and feed lots of fluids.

I know its hard..try to warm your babies formula everytime you feed him. With Nasal congestion, its hard for them to drink their usual quota of milk. So gradually increase it..do not force him..

Is your baby in medication for cold?
Take care and relax. It takes a while for babies to recover from cold..my baby had cold for more than 3 weeks and she found it hard to drink her milk from bottle..sometimes breastfeeding helps..
