sh,
here goes. Diet i follow:

1. Start the day with a nice and heavy breakfast. No oil, no ghee. Eat cereal, wheat bread toast with some peanut butter. Prefer cereals high in protien. Personally i eat a bunch of nuts(almonds, walnuts, roasted peanuts, dried berries, raisins, cherries etc..). I eat my breakfast about 4 to 5 hrs of waking up.

2. Also i eat a tonne of Salad before lunch. Salad includes : salad tomatoes, baby carrots, blueberries, orange slices, apple slices, spinach leaves. I don' t use dressing and eat everything raw. That' s the reason i combine the veggies and fruits to not feel the lack of dressing.

3. Lunch i eat cracked wheat instead of rice. Two advantages to this, one being it keeps your stomach very full for very long and second it provides you with a lot of fiber which helps cleanse your body of all toxins(fats and other). I cook the cracked wheat like you make kichdi and then use daal, sabzi and the rest as i were using it with rice.

4. Go to gym from my work b' cos once i reach home i become extremely lazy to make myself go out. Workout everyday for 5 days a week for about an hour. Also i take short walks(15 mints) at work whenever possible. Do yoga at home for 1/2 hour everyday.

5. For dinner i eat everything that my family eats. Rice, chapati, sabzi, daal anything. No restrictions. B' cos if i restrict myself in the night then i can' t sleep well.

so, that' s my story. Now modify it to your needs and follow it. It is not easy sticking to a regimen especially if the kids fall sick, husband is not cooperating etc.. In my case husband is very cooperative b' cos he knows what it means to me to be healthy. But he travels for most part of the week. Still i never try to cut out on my workout time. If i need to wake up an hour early to make it to my gym, i' ll do it. No matter what happens, unless i' m so sick that i cannot move, i never ever quit gym time. Even if it only 1/2 hour that i can spare at the gym, i still go. I know it is a hassle getting dressed, driving etc.. but try to look at the big picture. If you don' t go, it is 1/2 hour less in your life.

Hope this helps.

sh, i come here on this site probably once everyday and never on weekends. So, tell me how can i help you? What do you need to get started? If you are not looking for shorcuts then i can help you in any way i can. If you are looking for some magic pill, honey lemon etc..then i can' t help you at all. so, ask me whatever you need and i' ll try to keep you moving. Good luck.

sh, there was no magic in what we achieved. Simple rules to remember : work hard, eat moderately and sensibly and then one could lose all the weight you want. Remember, you did not become 70KGS or whatever in 2 or 3 months time. Try taking a look at what you want to look like by turning the pages of your album and pick a picture as to what you want to look like. Then think back as to how old that picture is. Lets say, you picked up a pic that is 2 yrs old, then don' t target to lose weight in 2 or 3 months. Give it equal amount of time to lose also. I know it was probably a more enjoyable journey getting here and a much more harder task to get back in shape, but trust me it' ll be all soooo worth it. Don' t cuss yourself every time you fall off the wagon or give up entirely. Actually never give up is my motto. Think about the bigger picture(your present self)...and get going in the right direction. Hope you join our group of losers.
