my child doesn't enjoy reading newspaper as his reading speed is very slow so he get bored till the paper. it takes him two hours to read the paper as he is slow reader. so what should i do to increase his reading speed?

Try making a game and spend some time reading some other interesting stuff with them. You getting involved is the most important part for them they will be encouraged and do the same

Encouraging newspaper reading

I have two kids who like reading books. I have instilled reading habit in them from a young age. They always read story books or books of interesting information. Lately I am encouraging them to start reading newspapers but they are not interested. they find it boring but yes they like to read the cartoon section in it. Reading newspaper will help them in enhancing IQ and Gk but they do not feel like reading it. they are unable to comprehend. How can i encourage my kids into reading newspaper.

Well what you can do is read with them . More over talk about those GK stuff you read in news paper which will make them know what are the benefits of it. I hope seeing you and listening to you will help them start with news papers too.

Making newspaper reading fun for kids

You can encourage your kid to read newspapers gradually. Start with a topic that is interesting. there is a kids section also and you can start encouraging with this section. Kids will gradually start reading. then there are some sections such as related to science or general knowledge that can be given to them for reading. Weather forecast are also a great read and you can encourage the reading habits by asking questions. Hope you liked my suggestions.

newspapers can be fun

You can make reading newspaper an interesting task. Make an activity out of it. cut out number of headlines fro and remove a word from it.Ask your kid to complete the headlines. This will be an interesting activity and yr kid will like it. you can also write a list of questions based on a selection of newspaper articles, and ask your kid to walk around the room trying to find the answers. This can be quite a lively activity!
