Parents always try to encourage their kids in their own ways. sometimes encouraging turns into pressuring. There is a thin line between encouraging and pressuring and few parents are aware of this. Undue pressures discourages kids. Encouragement is when parents cheer the kid into an activity that they want to do and also helping them in their endeavour while pressuring is insisting on doing something in a specific manner. Giving them the choice to do something is encouraging. No parent is perfect. We all have a habit at some point of pressuring rather than encouraging our children. I think the parents are also to be applauded for this as they did not pressurize her and allowed her to do what she liked. Rather than discouraging her, they helped her and also guided her. She was lucky to get help from other quarters as well. What worked most for her was her resolve to do something. Somebody with a grit and great will power can accomplish the most difficult of all the tasks also. We need more of such young people to make a difference.
