Hi Archie,
Can you please explain me the reason for the below question? I have these question in my head from long time.
1)What are the main reason for fluid Retation? Is there any way that we can avoide it? Had read somewhere that it will disappear after delivery. is it true?

2)As the baby is growing and moving around a lot how can we avoid the cord entangling around the baby? I know this not much in our hand. But still if any of our sitting, sleeping or walking position will help to overcome this.

3)Also would like to have advice as to what precautions that needs to be take to avoide having premature babies.

1. fluid retention can be avoided by avoiding or reducing salt in diet. also avoiding white breads (made from Maida), carbohydrates. I have suggessted all these things to you to avoid.
2. You can't do much about this. Some baby get twists around and resolve automatically, I would not worry on this althoug I was a victim of this and ended up in C-section. I don't feel bad as it was not in my hand and baby is healthy and sound.
3. do not exert body a lot. no rigrous activities, no long walk until completion of 36 weeks. One can hope not to deliver before 36 weeks. If you feel contractions, mild but regular can get admitted and avoid it by injection if needed. a bed rest is good idea.

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
