hi friends...I m 26, working and mother of 1yr old. presently in a govt job i m not satisfied with my job... but my hubby dont allow me to change for a better job. I always thot of to do some academic courses just for my knowledge sake but my hubby dont let me do. I assure him tht i wont take any professional qualification but he never considers me .....i feel as if i m wasting my life and my precious youth .plz help anybody senorita replied. i m a working mother, private job. I earn v well, my office is posh, with AC, hi-fi canteen and food court, flexible hours, internet facility, laptop, perks, i live 6kms from office, and i like my job.

When my 4 yr old daughter stays with maid. When she falls sick, i take her to doc and tell office ppl i will be late. Kid asks if mom will stay home as she is sick. I say \" u are not too sick, just some fever, and i gotta go\" . Thats because i cant miss the evening client call and its preparation in the day.

My daughter's school calls me up and asks \" we are holding a cultural programme, wd u like to participate? Can your hubby join us for kite flying competition for fathers?\" Both refuse. Reason? The job.

Then one night my kid tells me how she enjoyed the cultural programme and that her best friends parents had come. I feel guilty.

My daughter doesnt hv the reading habit. I have the money to buy best books for her but dont hv time to cultivate the habit.

I download loads of recipes from internet - recipes for kid's lunch boxes, healthy snacks for kids .... but umtimately my maid cooks that old boring Parantha and packs my kid's tiffin with it. I dont hv time to cook tiffin in mornings.

All the recipes i downloaded .. to cook things for my hubby ... are lying in folders on my nachine ... only a few got to see life.

I love home decor and gardening. Sometimes when office is easy, i take care of house. Today i feel sad to see the drying plants.

My kid says at night in bed \" mumma tell me a story\" ... many times mumma is not there when kid sleeps, when she is she is tired ... rarely i can tell her a story.

Office work is never without tension. One mistake and people frown at u. Second mistake and your boss 'takes u for a coffee'.

7 pm is least i start for home from office. Traffic makes it worse. My car and music system are there with me, but as the minutes pass by at 15kmph and in first gear ... i cant wait to see my kid.

We are like rabbits running after the carrot tied up on our heads.

I dont get time to trim nails, i hv to prioritize between parlor and giving time to kid on weekends. My weekends go in laundry, grocery and market. A hurried visit to a mall and a dinner is all i get to enjoy.

Then i feel, why i m doing this? My hubby earns well and if i earn little less but spend good time in home and with kid, whats wrong?

And then I start asking people, friends and neihbors, how can i get to do a government job?

No i m not suggesting u anything. Just that after reading ur message, this thought came to my mind.. i dint realise when i started writing abt it!
