Hi girls,
I beleive on Oct 3rd, in many parts of the world (including india) therewill be a solar eclipse. Pregnant women are advised to stay indoors during the eclipse time. Now, I am not sure what time this is. SO i advice u to check with ur MIL/Mom.

I need help!! i am going to be in Dubai travelling on that day. Is anyone here from dubai?? Can u find out abt the time of the eclipse in dubai for us?? Help will be appreciated.

Good luck all
best wishes, E

Dear E P,

The exact duration of the solar eclipse in UAE (Dubai) is from 1:47 pm to 4:04 pm. But, something called 'sootak' (as my mom told me) would start in the morning only. So, try to eat wheat grain or any grain, before morning (say, before 5:00 am) and from morning till 1:45pm, u can drink water, juices and eat fruits. Then during the eclipse duration, try not to eat or drink anything. Besides, if u have tulsi at home, put tulsi leaves in all the eatables (like pickles, ghee, oil, jam etc.) and in the water. It is said that the tulsi helps in prventing any germs to settle down in these things during the eclipse. Besides this, during the eclipse duration, do not let sun rays fall on you and do not cut anything (whether by knife or by scissors); do not sit with your hands or legs clasped; do not wear the cloth, that you wear during this time, ever again; if possible, sprinkle some geru (red colour stone that is used as a colour) mixed with water on your clothes; do not lock any lock; do not scratch yourself; if possible, place a coconut (an unpeeled one) in your lap and sit; do not light any match or gas; do not touch any religious book or the temple at home; do not sleep. All these things have been told to me by my mother and my mother-in-law. I know, it seems to be really tough to abide by all these rules. But, on second thoughts - these have to be followed only for approx. 2 hours; so shouldn't be so much of a problem.
Take Care and Relax,
Sonal

hi
i am sorry for delay.was not keeping well.
well the solar eclipse in dubai wiil be seen as partial over the rest of Africa,EUrope, and Western Asia.
In the UAE the obscuration will reach about 20%at 2.59pm(UAE time).IN the region of annular eclipse, the sun will be covered upto 95%for almost 4 minutes.
India is by the way one and half hour before dubai.I hope this helps.
bi take care.

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
