Health Issues:Travelling to India..Malaria shot needed?

We are travelling to India for the first time with our 10 month old son. Do you recommend giving anti amalria medicnies? what other precaustions do you receommend taking like water etc. I am very worried and confused as diff people give different opinions. Some people say it is ridiculous to go at this time since there is sucha scare abotu Dengue fever etc. I am eager to go as my parents live in India and I want them to be able to spend some time with their grandson Please advise.. anyone.

my advise wld be to approach your local GP...
I too will be travelling sometimes next yr in feb and upon consulation with my GP i was told no malaria vaccine req before 4 yrs of age..nevertheless i suggest u check with ur GP.
