Dear Sweety,
More or less every women face the same problem in their early marriage. First, try to make your relation bonds strongly. If he thinks you are in filmi, don't discuss those things with him. You don't accompany him when he is with his friends. Let him go with his friends. Convince him that after his friends party he should spend alteast some time with you alone. May be you both can stay home and have a nice dinner with candles or both watch a romantic movie on his b'day. know his interests and plan accordingly. You cannot change him overnight. It takes time, be patient and make your busy when he is not around you. Don't think more and never cry.
I don't understand why these inlaws always want their son's to always spend their money for SIL's without any occasion. But don't interfere in their matters now itself. He will change slowly and once you have kids then they will change.
