Due Date Club November 2003:No weight gain for 5 weeks!

Name: Vaishali Sabherwal Hi everyone, Im due on 7th of november, I gained oodles of weight in my first and second trimesters. I started with 57 Kgs and by the time I got to my 7th month I had gained 14 kgs so I was at 71 Kgs. But now its been 5 weeks and I havent shown ANY weight gain! I have been to the doc thrice and everytime its the same!! The doc did made me do a couple of tests etc which show the baby to be alright, She also said that a lot of women start with lots of weight gain and later taper off while others start with low weight gain in their first and second trimesters and then end up with lots, but this is bothering me so much.....has anyone heard of this happening? Do let me know...

Hi Vaishali,

I don't know how much about the weight gain and how it should be ideally done during whole nine months. But I don't think its much of an issue, as long as ur doc says the baby is fine and growing well. So don't get stressed out on this. Just eat healthy and take good care of urself and u will be doing whats best for ur baby. And we all are always here whenever u want to share your feelings.

So relax and take it easy.

hi i am manisha and my due date is nov 11. i too am facing a somewhat similar problem,i am registering less wt gain. consult your doc and eat properly .

Hey thanks for replying back yes its nice to share ur concerns with someone, I have been eating propely but its not showing in the weight gain, all my tests show that the baby's alright TOUCHWOOD! except I believe it wont be a nice fat chubby baby as the doc had originally thought it would be. But whats comforting is that its fine. And I guess it makes no sense getting worked up as I just discovered my BP's gone up as well and now I have to take bed rest for a week. Anyways, I guess rest will do me some good as I usually keep running around from place to place now I can relax and watch movies, listen to music and READ! so here's hoping all's well on ur end too....stay in touch and wish you all the best! Keep writing in!

hi vaishali,,

do not worry. my due date is in nov17 and total weight gain is only 4.5 kg. in between i loss also. in your case u gain more first so every hting is fine. do not tense that will effect your baby more
