Hello all,
I have a 8 month old baby who drinks BM 3 times a day and takes bottles (either pumped BM or formula) the rest of the day. I feed him just before his bedtime and he sleeps good and wakes up once in the early morning and I feed him then.

But in the last 4-5 days, this changes. He goes to bed as usual and starts his sleep as usual, but wakes up after 3-4 hours. If I feed him, he goes back to sleep but then again he cries in 1 or 2 hour time period. THis continues till the morning in every 1 to 1.5 hrs... which makes me feel very tired(missing sleep) and since I am trying to calm him down by feeding him to go back to sleep, I feel pain in my nipples. : (

Why did his pattern change? Is it because I am not producing enough milk and when he drinks before his bed time it's not enough. Is the nipple pain is because the latching has changed?!! I guess not. Is the baby can have latching position difficulty after 7 months?!! I am confusing about everything. PLEASE HLP.

my baby showed the same pattern before she had a tooth.babies have restless sleep and bite on the nipples when they r teething.does he drool and pull her ears?if he does i think he might be getting a teeth..just a guess ...hope this helps sha replied. Hi Girija,

what do u feed him before he falls back to night's sleep? if u r giving him solid or milk, try increasing the quantity. coming to nipples problem , if the baby keep sucking many times with short period of time interval that's common. Once his stomach is full, he won't get up frequently, because he wasn't doing that from the beginning. hope this helps.
