Some babies, in the very first few months of life, may experience a general scaliness and redness around the scalp area. The scales may be oily and yellow in color. It may also appear as red or slightly pinkish crusted patches.

This condition is known as \" cradle cap\" and is pretty common in brand new babies.For most babies, cradle cap will heal by itself within a few months without any special treatments.

Which oil should be used to massage baby' s hair and scalp? Is coconut oil good for baby' s hair care regimen? Can coconut oil cause harm to baby' s hair and scalp? Any mothers of newborn babies if using coconut oil on baby' s hair, please help me out with these queries.

Hi Rupali, Thank you for raising these concerns. Even I have same concerns regarding baby´ s hair oil issue. I do not know if I should put oil on baby´ s hair or I should avoid using hair oil on baby´ s hair. I want to know what should be done in order take care of baby´ s hair oil issue.

It is very necessary to take good care of newborn babies hair. Lot of people use coconut oil especially in southern part of India for baby' s hair care regimen. Baby' s scalp is very delicate therefore it is necessary to be careful while using any product on baby' s hair and scalp.
