Body and Fitness:Sandya and all - weight status quo

Dear Sandya and all!

I have been reading your posts and find it very useful. I have delivered about 4 months back. As soon as I delivered my weight was 52kgs which was a 50 reduction of my total weight gain. However since then Its only been 52 and has not reduced at all. certain facts that I would want to note are that -
- I have been exclusively breast feeding
- My baby is not on solids yet
- I have been brisk walking every day for 20 min
- I have been eating wholesome but low calorie food
- I am also planning to start my workouts once I find a reliable baby sitter
- I have been drinking 2 ltrs of water daily.

despite all this I am going steady on 52 and my pre-conception weight was 44kgs. I want to know When would I loose this stubborn weight. My target, if not 44, is 48kgs. What could I include in my regular schedule and where am I going wrong.

Would appreciate your response.

Archi

Thanks Sandhya!

Your words are reassuring that I am steady ion 52 kgs. However I am 5.1 feet hence the ideal weight for me should be 48kgs. I probably had a misconception that feeding moms lose weight faster. However I dont htink I have enough stamina for a rigorous workout currently hence I would only continue my regular brisk walking. Yes I do feel hungry often hence tend to eat more as I am exclusively feeding my baby and planning to start solids now. What do your suggest I could start with and what quantity??? My baby has doubled her birth weight and can sit with support with head low at times.

Archi,
you didn' t mention your height, but anyway since you think you are overweight, lets see with the given info, what might be going on.

While exclusively breast feeding your baby, you weight is supposed to increase b' cos of all the extra calories you consume due to feeding. It is good news that you are steady at 52. Be happy. The weight that you see right now is not permanent. Once you stop breast feeding your hunger will automatically vanish and you will go back to your original weight that you were. Maybe + a few pounds but not more. You seem to be doing everything right as far as eating right and exercise is concerned. Don' t overstrech yourself now. If you really want to notch up on your workout then wait till you wean off this baby of yours. Don' t experiment right now. 52 KGS is a great weight. I wish i could be 52. NAH! not really. I am happy at 54. So, think positive, be happy and enjoy your baby(they won' t be babies for too long).all the best.
