Its tough girl. You have to be very strong to face the bad world. I had a break of two years and I got the sh**tiest replies from the recruiters. They just would not proceed with the interview. Though I too was upto date with the latest knowledge and would have fared better than those out there, I dont know people were like \" Oh you were a housewife !\" \" So you want to make a comeback\" . You may feel \" So what, yes I want to make a comeback\" . But they just have such horrible looks like they dont want to waste their time interviewing. But dont loose heart. Polish your marketing skills very well, even if you dont know the technical skills, impress with your go-getter attitude. I tried a lot and finally got. Its better to try thru friends or ex-employees. If they can refer you half of your job is done.

Well if you have uptodate knowledge in software.. atleast in the field u want to work..it is really gud for your career.. coz its a mad race out there.. people are fiercly competitive..nd they work long hours to have an edge over other people.. my first suggestion is realise your capability.. know what u want to do as your child is still small .. choose a job ( in software field only like technical writing or testing) that are not so demanding.. that will not take up too much of your time.. you dont want to go back home all stressed out. Secondly since you had a long career break.. for a n year or so.. dont consider money a parameter.. just gain experience..that;'s the most important thing right now.. Lastly and most importantly.. dont give up if u dont get thru inetrviews in the beginning.. just analyse what answers u gave wrong..it will take some time for you to prepare well for interviews.. start with small companies first and then target the ones you really want to work for..download interview qns from net. keep doing analytical qns ..it will sharpen your mind..I hope this helps you.. Wish you all the best
