Trying since long:Advice from Archie or anyone .

Hi ,
i'm not sure if this the right board to post this quesion....
I had had a miscarriage (missed abortion) last year i.e in Dec 2003. The fetus had stopped growing at 7 weeks and 3 days but there were no symptoms at all .i had pregnancy symptoms right till 10 weeks and 3 days ( actually even a fter the D&C maybe it was all hormonal) then one day i observed some brown tissue like discharge without any abdominal pain or backache and still having all the pregnancy symptoms . So i called my doc's office and they were so sure there wasn't anything wrong but still jsut gave me an appt to make sure (but somehow i knew that i had lost my baby . a mothers sixth sense u could say). So they gave me an internal exam and an US wherein they discovered what had happened and also that i have a retroverted uterus . My doc said that would not pose a problem in any future pregnancy ( as this first pregnancy too had happened in just the first try) . I had conceived in Oct 2003.
I did not have the guts to try again after that and i feel that i'm kinda ready now i.e. emotionally . We'r thinkin of trying again in October. What i want to know is that are there any precautions that i shld take after i do conceive ..or shld i go in for some medical tests before i start trying . After the miscarriage the doc had said that there wasnt anything wrong with me it must have been some chromosomal abnormalities and they dont consider it high risk pregnancy until u have had 3 miscarriages (how weird is that) anyways i would appreciate any advice from any one from this board.
thanks a lot,
simmi

Dear Simmi,
Sorry for your loss and confirmed once again that mother knows better than Dr.

If you go to the same Dr. then no need to worry and no additional precautions to be taken care. You should be able to get there and carry to full term. The type of miscarriage you faced is \";missed abortion\";, where fetus aborts by itself and largly due to chromosomal abnormality took place while recombination.

Unfortunately without three subsequent losses in US they do not check you for details or they don;t treat you under high risk.

YOu can however accept bed rest and stay less active to avoid any physical activity that would result in such mishap.

It's good to be positive and think of newlife within yourself when get pregnant than considering your last pregnancy.

I would strongly recommend you to try it again and keep in touch here.

Hi Everyone,

We have been married for the last 12 years. We are trying for a baby but unfortunately every time it's disappointing. I had 3 abortion, 2 Ectopic pregnancy, 1 IUI failure and 2 IVF failures. I had septum in the uterus and got removed. Since I had a history of ectopic pregnancies, both my fallopian tubes are tied. Due to the poor ovarian reserve ... - Malini [View Message]
