I am 22 years of age and currently pursuing higher studies in Mumbai. I am originally from Jalandhar. Since, it's a student/college life, I come across all the situations that a guy/girl faces. Very recently, I have realised that a classmate of mine (girl) is showing a lot of interest in me and in a way is chasing me. I am good looking, fair and handsome. She always stares at me during the class hours and sometimes tries to sit in row besides my row and just to initiate conversation, throws her book on the surface etc. so that I could pick it up and give it to her. Earlier I used to feel nice since she very good looking and fair too but now it's getting a little bit embarassing. Many times I have also found her doing things trying to sit besides me in a library while studying and pretend as if she is studying or has something to discuss just to initiate conversation. She is doing her best to impress me. I had spoken to her few times but along with other friends.

Could anybody please clarify as to how it's possible to know whether she's really in love or it's a mere infatuation. Are these regular signs that a girl shows when she is interested in a guy or it's just mere infatuation/attraction? Is it normal among girls to show their feelings this way through actions than words?

How should I try to find out whether she's really interested in a long-term commitment? Anyways, I won't be marrying for next 3 years or so as I have some career plans. I feel not to make any hasty decision in this matter as it's a question of whole life-time.

I would be grateful if anybody could advice me on this matter.

A friend from Canada replied. She is in love with you, or she has feelings for you. But the question is how do you feel about her. Why is do you need to know?? If she does have feeling for you, does that mean you will go on with the relationship, it is a two way street. Why don't you ask a friend of her, what her feeling towards you are. Also I think the best thing to do is approach her you self, I was in the same situation, I had a crush on this boy in school, and I did everything to get his attention etc. So one day the boy actually came up to me and asked me to go to a school dance with him and ever since than we've been going out. WHat I am saying is that the girl will keep trying to get the guys attention hoping that one day he will realize it and approach the girl and ask her out. So why don't you start talking to her and start off with being friends and see where it leads to.. Good luck and keep us posted.
