Hi Again!
I wouldn't suggest starting oatmeal cereals till after the baby is 6 months. Let ur baby's system get used to the rice first. Then after 6 months introduce oatmeal etc. However remeber, give your baby few days of only oatmeal to see any reaction before u start mixing cereals. Regarding mixing the cereal with breastmilk..that is perfectly fine..I use a breastpump to express my milk and it works fine.
Where do you live? I'm in Hong Kong. My daughter will be starting her Gymbaroo classes tomorrow...what about you?

Hello Sai,

According to what the doctors say and my experience, babies should not be fed solids till 6 months since their digestive system is not yet ready to handle it.

After 6 months, they should be given easily digestable things. Fruits top the list - apples, pears, banana, papaya, apricots, etc. Then they can be given vegetables and then rice, ragi, etc.

Bye,
Hema

Hi!
I have just started solids with my 5 month old daughter. I started with rice cereal and have now started with fruits like apple, pears, bananas and papaya. I will soon begin with carrots and potatos. I suggest u do the same, however make sure you try the same food for few days before you introduce another. Good luck and keep me informed how it goes.

hai,
solids are to be started when baby sits with support and has head control or when he/she doubled the weight.
rice cereal is the best to start first.start only one new food at a time as some babies are allergic to some foods.
start with 1 tbsp.if ur baby turns or splits it i.e means not ready for it.give a week gap and try again.
its good to mix with breast milk or formula.
hope ur baby enjoy the solids.

take care,
bye.
