Hi

My daughter is 13mths now and i have been giving two meals and about 750ml -- 800ml milk
Now she is refusing milk, i have been having difficult time in feeding her milk

i would like to know after 12 months she is in toddler age, how much quantity of milk does she need to drink per day ?
and can she still continue taking jar food, like Heinz , Gerber and so on? Until what age can i still continue her on jar food

Can i go ahead to give fresh milk instead formula milk for change since she is refusing to take her formula milk

desperately looking for an advice - thanks !!!

Hi Radha and Sonal,

You can try to give Yogurt, cheese, tofu, spinach, broccoli etc if you are worried about calcium intake. My daughter does not like anything that is sweetened, she does not like any breakfast cereal,no bottled food, no bannana, she just likes salty taste.I am also worried about her calcium intake, she is going to be 1 in a weeks time and she has only 2 teeth. My doctor has recommended her a calcium supplement.she is active, but looks thin, she weighs around 9.5 kg, it really worries me. I have taken break from job since her birth and am full time for the time being, whole day trying different tactics, but she fails me.
Lets keep trying, please write to me how many feeds your babies take per day.Mine takes 2 meals and 2 times milk(max 400ml per day)

Hi Deepa,
Thank you very much for your advice. I do try giving him calcium in different forms but you know how these kids are. Well, my son also weighs only 9 kgs. I have also taken break from job and am a full time mum. My son does not drink milk at all. I keep trying different flavours. Sometimes it works. I mix it in his foods or as you said give him calcium in other forms.
Keep in touch

Hi,
My son who is 13 months old refuses to drink milk. I mix about 250 ml milk with his breakfast cereal. He does not drink any milk during the day.
I give him dal, chapati, cooked vegetables etc twice a day, and fruits for tea time. I am worried about his calcium as he does not drink milk at all.
Do reply

Hi Radha,

I can very well understand ur situation, my daughter is going to complete 12 months on 1st. She also gave me a tought time for one week, I tried all the things
1)changed the nipples of bottle
2) got her new bottle
3)tried to feed her with spoon
4) changed formulas, got her flavoured formula
5) starved her
But nothing worked, she used to hate. i got crazy as her intake of milk was nill, then i just prayed god and din't give her milk one day, the other day she gradually started taking. she is taking only around 400ml per day with 2 meals.
I give her normal meal like chapathi soaked in milk and kichdi. My daughter has stopped taking bottled foods long back.I think as they get to taste variety they reject plane taste, if your daughter has atleast 2 teeth start giving her steamed or cooked vegetables she might love that more than paste.
i think its ok to start fresh milk but its better to have formula as long as possible.

Good Luck with ur little one
