Due Date Club November 2003:Yikes!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, I realised this morning that the number of weeks left until I reach my 40th is in the single digits now (9 in my case)......

I am not ready at all...

I haven't bought a single thing..I have a musical crib attachment thingy that a friend had given me a couple of months ago and thats the only only baby related item....:(

How are you guys doing on that front (shopping, nursery, labor/hospital bag etc)??????

I sure do want the out safe and sound and as soon as he is ready for the outside world though..

Have a great weekend everyone..

And I thought i was the only one who has not done much shopping for my lil one. I have bought a few things, but they just seem nothing compared to list I've in hand. And the best part is I've to everything or atleast as much as i can before I leave for india, which is end of this month, so basically i only have 2 more weeks to shop. GOD thats scary and tiring too.

Anyways since i have a deadline to meet, hopefully that will motivate me to shop too.

Goodluck for ur shopping and Congrats on reaching a single digit week mark. I still have almost 11 to go. Seems like a long time.

Hey Nikita, atleast you have a deadline within which you HAVE to get things done and like you said it will give you the motivation you need.. :)

Dont worry you will be done soon and will be with your family in India..that is so cool.. :) I hope you will get to keep in touch from India and tell us about all the exciting things you will get to do there ... :)

11 weeks, will go by like a breeze..and before you know it will be November. :)

Hey Avi, me in the same gang too, same time left, the only things in place are car seat and moses basket. No clothes, my nightware is coming from India with my friends' dad, since my mum won't join me after until after the baby arrives! Have to get my hospital bag ready and for clothes, whenever I think let me finish other shopping, hubby dearest says since we don't know boy or girl, I'll get everything when the baby arrives myself. So I have left it for him to deal with...but yes still a lot to sort out and GOD am I tired .......
Happy Moving and Shopping!

Simmi, the suprise will surely be sweet. Hope you will keep us all updated too.. :)

It looks like Moses basket is similar to our basinnet - that was what I was planning to buy for the first few months and then go for the crib.

You and your hubby will surely have a lot of fun doing up the nursery...

Hi Avi. Thx for the compliment, still think have loads to sort out but hopeful that things will fall in place....about finding out the gender, we did get curious but since the hospital we r booked with don't tell genders, we had to hold on...not long to go though, deep down I can't wait......to end the suspense!!
About Moses, well it is small basket to use for the first three months for the baby before shifting the baby in the cot or bed! Let's see how long the baby fits in it but in the meantime, can get the nursery ready with the right colors based on the gender. Fingers crossed!!
Take care.

You have the most important thing done Simmi - car seat.. so you are much ahead of some of us.. :)
What is a Moses basket???..sorry if I sound ignorant..but never heard of it before.

As long you have the basic/immediate baby necessities (in neutral colors) taken care of, you hubby is right about doing the rest of the shopping..

I applaud you and your hubby for hanging on when it comes to finding out whether it is boy or a girl....I would have gone crazy by now.. :)

Hi Avi,

We are getting so close day by day. It's very thrilling and yet scary to think about the question - Am I really prepared for all this?

I haven't shopped a single item, haven't taken the hospital tour and literally have nothing ready for the baby.

But, I am glad I still have two digits weeks(11 to be precise) ahead. I know time flies and these 11 weeks will be here before you know it. I am not trying to scare you but I want myself to get scared so I get some motivation to shop early(I can't believe I still think this as early).

Anyway, congrats on hitting the one-digit week mark.

Vindhya

Hey Vindhya, it seems like just yesterday I had 11 more weeks..
so like you said, before you know it you will be there....

the countdown has begun for all of us...

I think like vandana said, it is better to get things over with ASAP, while we still are still physically able to do so..
I sure applaud Nick's coolness, but knowing myself, I would be freaking out and panting like I do when I walk for a few mins now if I were in her place..

I hope we have it all done soon...but boy, am I glad to know I am not the only one.. :)

Hi Avi

I'm in the same boat as you, the only thing I have been shopping for so far is baby clothes. But I have my lists ready, it helps if you know what all you need to look for. My hubby has promised that beginning this weekend we are going in a full fledged shopping mode :) Since I plan to work until the very end, weekends seem to be the only good time. Besides, I also have to shop a couple of things for my parents, they'll be here before the baby! have to get their room ready too. Just thinking of all the work makes me tired!!
I'd say now is a good time to start, you know our energy levels are going downhill by the day... I feel that, do you? I have been feeling so heavy lately, can bearly stand for 15-20 mins at a stretch.

Best of luck shopping!
Vandana

Hey Vandana, thanks for making me feel much better about the shopping situation :)

I know exactly how you feel..Until last week, I was exercising for 45 mins, 3-4 days a week..now I get out of breath if I walk for more than 10 mins..it sure it getting hard to get myself to move...

We will be moving in a week from tomorrow, so I was planning on getting things ready after we move..We are not planning on buyin a crib right now, neither are we going to do up a nursery (cause we will be renting for a year or so). I was planning on buying a bassinet and other baby essentials (clothes, bottles, etc) and ofcourse the most important item - a car seat to start off with..
and most of everyone here suggested that bAbiesRus is a good place to get everything....

My parents will also hopefully get here by the end of Oct and like you, I have to get a few things ready for their stay as well...

I will surely sit down and make a list, like you suggested, this weekend (after going through the list we have in our briefcase and ARshiya's list as well) and see how it looks....

Good luck with everything..and keep us updated with your shopping experiences..it really helps to get input from others.. :)

Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.
