Trying since long:Hi Archie

Hi Archie,

A friend of mine has low sperm count (0.1 million). It was 6 million when he took 7 months back and was prescribed with some medicines. But it has drastically reduced after 7 months of taking medicines. He was also diagnosed of having excess calcium content in his testicles.

His wife has irregular periods and her ovaries were not producing eggs properly (they were not growing fully). They decided to go for IUI She is taking treatment for the same and now her eggs are growing but my friend has extreme low count.

What do you advise? This friend of mine is extremely stressed due to a lot of things around him. Could that be the cause of such a drastic reduction in the sperm count? Kindly advise.

Thanks in advance all of you.

Dear Help needed one!

1. The calcium in testicles needs to be monitored.

2. Ask him not to stress out, it has a huge impact on sperm count.

3. If your friend works in factory or heating device or in warm environment, this will make it even worse. He has to maintain life in cool environment to improve his count by itself.

4. If a medication was for improving sperm count and has done job reverse definitely his Dr. needs to prescribe different drug and work on the impact previous medicine has made on him.

5. Loosing sperm count to any extent is possible even in less than a month, 7 month is large time.

6. Sorry but looks like he needs to improve his sperm count before going for an expensive step of IUI. Many unkwon fertility issue couples (means tests show they are healthy but not able to conceive) they are advised to go for IUI as the sperm count/ovulation is not an issue.

6. What's best in such a low sperm count is to know how many of them are motile, which is most important and also structurally normal. If there is a good % of motile/structurally normal sperms then your friend can rather go for IVF, which is even more expensive but will boost chances of success.

I should however warn that no method guarantee 100% success. All methods and suggestions will be based on conditions and statistic so far shown success by using.

YOur friend requires to adopt healthy life style, if not going to gym, then ask him to do that, at least aerobic type of light gym, no weight lifts necessarly. Some Jogging is good.

Ask him to eat healthy, if eating too much outside ask to eat home, include poulty, dairy products in balance.

Ask him to wear undergarments fully cotton textured to keep body temperature or environment soothing.

There is Himalaya product called Speman known to make miracles in some mens, but don't know should he try as he is on some treatment already. Never take two different treatment at the same time as they can cross react and get more trouble that's difficult to sort later.

I am sorry, could not make absolutely strong help, but here said that I could think of his help.

Good luck to your friend. Glad to note that your friend has a friend like you who is going to find him help and is concerned!

Hi Everyone,

We have been married for the last 12 years. We are trying for a baby but unfortunately every time it's disappointing. I had 3 abortion, 2 Ectopic pregnancy, 1 IUI failure and 2 IVF failures. I had septum in the uterus and got removed. Since I had a history of ectopic pregnancies, both my fallopian tubes are tied. Due to the poor ovarian reserve ... - Malini [View Message]
