can anyone suggest a good brand of electric/battery breast pump available in india? i stay at chennai and where do i find the product. also it would be better if it is not too expensive as the usage will be very occasional. please help with imm reply. im having craked nipples and not sure about the supply of milk. i think using a pump wil help. pls let me know.thanks a lot.

i agree with sandya , of using medela pumps...... they are the best. when my son was 2 months i had gol stone so i had the be in hospital for 4 days to under go surgery and couldn' t b' feed my son..... so i rented medela electric pump and it had manual pump too...... in the kit. both are very good and it doesn' t hurt u more like other pumps......

i don' t know where is it available in india but if u don' t get then u can order it online at \" medela website\" and enquire whether they do international shipping..... or do some search where its available in india.

Try to rent a electric pump since battery powered ones are not so powerful. You can rent these out at the hospital where you delivered. I' am sure this service is available even in India OR atleast they will guide you to a person who can rent out hospital grade breast pumps. Here in the US, Medela sells best pumps, i' am not so sure in India. Also for the cracking nipples, you could use a cream from any pharmacy Or follow this:

To prevent cracks, tears and chapping of nipples apply Olive oil, or Sweet almond oil, or Lanolin or Comfrey ointment.
