I have pets in my house (2dogs specifically). My newborn is 20 days old and has suddenly had an instant or two of spitting out his milk which at one instance looks like curd is there cause for alarm or worry. Giving away the dogs is not even an option. Hetal replied. hi, curdled milk is a sign of reflux.its normal for babies upto 3months and youngers. watch your diet if you are giving bm,,avoid all gasy foods and have plenty of good meals that doesnt have much spices..also if the spitting becomes vomitting and a sign that makes your baby cry ! then take him to dr.other wise,,its fine !
keep him upright after feeds,,dont let him sleep straight,,let him sleep elevated,,give him good time of play after feeding,,than going to direct sleep,,newborns sleep directly so we cant do much about it except making them sleep elevated or on your chest or rock him/burp him a while on your shoulders...
rub your hand from top to bottom to make him feel better with refluxes...if he is doing this after feeds, do this after feeds, so that it will settle his refluxes..also make sure not to settle his refluxes that are in reaction to overfed milk !
to know that, burp him first then do this rubbing back.
if while burping this curd like milk is coming out it means your baby has been overfed.( to burp on your shoulders, rub his back from bottom to top ! instead of top to bottom (settling refluxes).
and dont worry, in overfeeding, you baby spitted out that wasnt needed !so excess came out and he has taken watever amt he needed !

This is a very common problem with babies - spitting up curdled milk I mean.Sometimes , it will be milky which is probably if she has a big burp stuck immediately after feeding.
