Sleeping:11 month old not sleeping through the night

hi! My son is 11 months old and is not sleeping well through night. During the day he eats banana, cheeku(sapota), oats with apple, dal and parantha, ragi sari, 100 ml of lactogen. Sometimes he also eats vegetable khichdi. At around 6:45PM I give him sooji kheer(sooji+little milk+1spoon ghee+jaggery+almonds). He sleeps at around 8-8:30. I give him BM before sleep. Then again he wakes up at around 11:30 PM and then after almost every 2 hours. During the day he sleeps just once for about 45 minutes. He doesn't look tired and is active most of the time. Everytime he gets up, he needs me to feed him. I am trying to wean him from BM. At midnight, he cries so much that finally I need to given him BM. Is the diet that I am giving him not correct? What should i do? Please help. I am a working mother and it becomes very difficult for me at night.

Dear Radhika,
Try to feed your baby a slightly heavier meal before he goes to bed. Also, check if he is waking up because he is getting too hot/cold at night. you could try feeding him a bit of milk out of a bottle when he wakes up at 11.30. sometimes, even water does the trick. I also faced a similar problemand got loads of suugestions from friends. You could visit my blog to view all the suggestions and a whole lot of other things related to baby care. Hope this helps you!

Follow this routine as i do with my year old kid.

1. when he gets up feed him.
2. breakfast - parantha with curd or butter( duly mashed) cornflaskes.biscuit/rusk ( soaked in milk)
3. After bathing, 7-8 oz of milk.
4. He getus up after 2hours . Then in lunch roti soaked in dal/kichhdi with curd with hing/ghee tadka.
5. Around 4, again milk and then he goes to sleep.
6. Around 6:30 , 7:00 biscuit, or some fruit.
7. Around 8:00 again milk.
8. At 9:00 dinner ( anything that i am eating, dal, roti, rice, panner, anything i make in dinner)
9. at 10:00 again milk
10. at 3:00 am milk again.

Try this out.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
