Eating Problems: Preschooler diet chart

Hi,
My son is 4 years old and is under weight.I' m worried for him and wants him to gain some weight....Plz help me prepare a nutritious and healthy diet chart.We are pure vegetarians.

hi NG,
u' ve not mentioned about ur child' s likes and dislikes in food stuff, so that i may suggest a few healthy diet of it' s own choice ingredients. Anyways, normal healthy diet for a preschooler (above 1 and below 04yrs.) should include a well balanced diet, since a child' s brain as well as body grows fastest in it' s first five years. so these yrs are of great importance in dietary terms.

Green moong (whole) sprouts can be boiled and served in form of salads in a bowl. Add salt, pepper or chat masala or lime juice with some other favourite salads like cucumber (chopped), tomatoes, etc.
these sprouts can also be converted in making dosas. Boil and mash into a mixie and make a thick batter. add ingredients as per choice or simply make green dosas (salt required). Toss them with butter or ghee (pure) which is better for a child' s growth. nutritious laddoos made of wheat flour or mix flour like ragi (nachni), udad (lentils), daaliya, etc. try to make them in pure homemade ghee. jaggery, dates, raisins, almonds (soaked in hot water, peeled and cut pieces), dry figs, etc are very useful to increase weight. bananas have a rich source of calcium and phosphorus. mash them and add milk and sugar. serve with chappati. children like it. boiled potatoes (parathas), sweet potatoes kheer (boiled mashed with milk and sugar).
Keep trying and varying recipes of ur child' s choice. don' t loose hope.
