Hi,

I live in India and the problem i have has an indian context. My wife says that I dont do household things on my own, like clean the bathroom, clean the comb, set the bed or keep clothes at proper place etc etc. I know she is saying true, but the problem is that I cannot even think of such type of household chores. It never comes to my mind that I have to wipe the mirror the wash basin mirror ( I just see my face in it and ignore the dirt on it). Or I dont realize that fridge is smelling so it should be cleaned. Otherwise I help her in all her household jobs only when she says it to me. Possibly my brain isnt made up to think in those lines. She is always angry over me for such things. I dont know what to do about this problem.
Another dimension to this problem is suppose I think of my own that I should put the towel for drying after bath and I do it by spreading it on the bed or some table or chair, she will do the same thing again by spreading it on wire or so, as if i hadnt done the things right. I always hear this phrase from her that I am not a responsible person, while on my part I do help her with all the household work.
I am sure there must be a lot of husbands like that, probably because male mind is not build like that. So any good wife can give some solution for this problem. Rohini replied. Hi,
Your story sounds very familiar to me...happens all the time in my house too.Even my hubby forgets to do simple things such as put the wet towel on the hook to dry off rather then laying that wet towel on the bed and so on and so forth.See u might view these as very simple things and must be feeling why does wifey get irritated at such stupid things.But just think from our pt of view....we have so many household chores to take care off during the day that if u take care of such simple things and manage them yourself they indeed are a big help.I would also like to tell u that my hubby also helps me a lot in the kitchen and I am really grateful to him for that but still taking care of simple things such as putting your shirt back on the hanger after changing clothes instead of dumping it on the bed is imp too....
In short just try to manage these simple things on your own....infact make it a HABIT and see there won't be any probs....and u will see that it will be of lot of help to u if incase your wife goes away for a while,u will be so much more organized.Don't u think so? So take it easy!
