I am also facing the problem of unexplained infertility.......The obgyn has done a lot of blood work and all for the hormione levels......i read in some of the articles that the hormone levels should be taken on particular days of cycle.......But mine was taken randomly ......will that affect the results ........i was put on clomid for 2 months continuosly but did not work........Third cycle i did not take clomid and got very heavy periods lasting for 20 days ....When i told my doc abt this she did soem blood work agian but did not check for any hormone levels...she also asked me to take birth control pills but i have heard that it takes a long time to get out of the system and so i did not take it ........I have a history of very irregular periods some times it comes twice in a month and some times in 2 months .....any explanations to this ? pls help?

I know your feelings, but BCP will help reducing this abnormal bleeding and see thereafter you will do OK.

I think you can have a second opinion at this stage too. 20 days bleeding is little abnormal, check up any other gynec possibilities.

Irregular periods make it difficult but not impossible to conceive. First try to get them normalized.
