Due Date Club November 2003:Arshiya: baby stuff

Hey ARshiya, I know you live in the bay area. If you could give me/others who live here an idea as to where you did all your shopping (stores), it would be so great...
The only store I kinda checked out so far was BabiesRUs and I did hear good things about the burlington coat factory's baby depot, other than those two stores, I am completely in the dark..

Thanks
-Avi

Avi,
I did all my shopping at BabysRus. I thought they had all the brands at reasonable prizes. Also, I went to burlington coat fact. but I just couldn't fall into the brands they have there. My book \";Baby Bargains\"; also talks about not buying more things at burlington, since they don't do refunds, they only do exchange. Also, they mentioned that you might find different item in the box when you get home and will not get refund afterall. I just wanted to avoid all these hazzels. That's why the best I thought was BabysRus. I haven't checked Walmart or Target. But, I think prizes are pretty good at BabysRus and you won't have to run around to 5 different stores.
I know this other store in Sanjose called Baby Super, they have all high end strollers and Cribs. But, they all cost almost double than at BabysRus.
Also, for clothes just go to Gap and Old Navy, they are the best.
I hope this will help you for sure.
Arshiya

Avi,
Target also has some good stuff. Since there isn't a WalMArt in or immediately around SF, I don't know much about stuff there. I checked out the Babies r Us at Union City...they have EVERYTHING. You can also buy from them through Amazon. There is a store called Lullaby Lane in South SF that's also s'posed to be good.
Hope that helps
Priya

Hey PRiya, you are right about Target (the stuff on their website was even better than what they had in the store that I visited)
Looks like BabiesRUs is the winner. Lullaby Lane sounds familiar too, somebody I know might have mentioned to me.
Thanks for your response, it sure is helpful

Hi Avi,

This is ashra frm oct board..thx 4 ur response regarding car seat info anyway i was planning to take an appt for the safety check we came across to know some department who does this check periodcally frm our doc's office ..
Regarding the baby stores so far i have been to almost all the baby stores in & around bay area nothing is compared to Babies'r us,Baby depot,& wal mart...those 3 stores r the best i have seen so far rest all too expensive itz not the money ,we shud really think of it whether itz worth for that amount when u get the same product less than that ,thatz wut i felt...i did so many analysis regarding the baby stores & finally i am sticking only to these 3 stores..lemme know if u come across something...
take care

Hey Ashra, thanx for your response..I will check out baby depot and walmart too before I start my shopping

YOu are right about the spending money part of the baby shopping. I did look at cribs at the pottery barn and cheapest one was around 750 bucks and looked miserable too.
Like you, I also believe in buying something depending based on the quality and on reviews from other parents and not based on the store/brand name.

Glad you figured out where to get the installation check. Do keep us updated with how it goes...

Take Care

Diaper Service Provider,Bangalore
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
