Hi Archie,

How are you? How is Advait doing? Do you have anybody from India come over for help with the kid?

I will be 12 weeks this week.From yesterday I feel I have lost my appetite. I dont feel like eating the way I used to earlier(beginning of pregnancy). Even if I eat little , I feel very bloated by evening. I was feeling very exhausted before. Now I am not that tired even though normal house hold work after returning home is still very difficult to manage.

Is it alright for the pregnancy symptoms to 'disappear' around 12 weeks? What about my appetite? What should I do for that to improve?

One more question Archie. In US when do they give HCG injections. I have had only one appointment with my doctor so far.

Your help and advice is really appreciated.

The symptoms of pregnancy are expected to subside at the end of first trim or onset of second trim. So be assured all is well with you.

About apetite, don't worry much. This is hormonal and normal in pregnancy. You will need to worry, you will know from next ultrasound around week 20 if all is OK. If you see fetus weight is concerning then your Dr. will suggest on your diet or apetite, so far no need to get tensed on that.

hCG injection is not a very normal OB practice in US. This depends on case to case. If your Dr. did blood work to confirm pregnancy then sure he/she knows your hCG levels. When hCG levels are in the normal limit there is no need to get injections, at least in US.

you will be called to see your OB each 4 weeks until week 30 and there until week 36 once a two weeks, from week 37 to delivery you will see your OB each week.
