I am a 28 year old housewife. Few weeks back I came to know that I have mild hypothyroidism.
My doctor said ,right now I don't need to take any medicine and should get it checked every 6 months.
My weight is 58kg and I am 5ft tall.I walk 5 days a week for 45 min in a treadmill.
Can anybody tell me ,any natural way of curing this, like any excercises, yoga etc.
Suggestions and advices are welcome.
Thanks

Nina replied. Dear Friend,
I have a first hand experience on this subject, I suffered from Hypothyroidism this early year.
During the month of February, I started noticing my energy level was depleting...I felt depressed and my weight had increased rapidly...overnight, I would wake up and look in the mirror and I looked puffy...
I eventually went to the doctor once my husband expressed his concerns. As we thought, I had a mild touch of hypothyroidism...my numbers weren't high enough for medication, but I still had a problem.
I went to look up various vitamins and herds...
what I found that worked for me was the following...I am not a doctor, but these items should not be harmful anyways.
In cooking, I replaced all oils with coconut oil...I used the finest grade in which I could find. This is an unsaturated fat.
Brewer's yeast is great, it is rich in basic nutrients...follow the directions of the label.
Make sure you are taking a vitamin supplement daily. In this, you should have 50mg daily of zinc. Zinc is an immune system stimulant.
Vitamin E...you should have 400 IU daily...do not take any more than this daily.
Vitamin C...500 mg at 4 times per day...no more than that amount. It could interfere with your thyroid hormone.
Herbs to take for thyroid conditions are Bayberry, black cohosh, and goldenseal. They really help a lot!
Molasses, egg yolks (if no diet restrictions), parsley, apricots, dates and prunes are foods you should keep in your diet.
I have a whole list of foods and things to take into consideration if you would like to know.
Please ask me, I may be able to help you.
Also, since foods are easy to incorporate in your diet, just keep those in mind even if you are uneasy adding certain vitamins and such.
With me, after 4 months of adding these things to my diet, also walking and such...I went back to my doctor and was tested...my thyroid numbers are back in the normal range now.
Before all this changes, I was tested twice, both times, the numbers were low, falling lower at each test.
Take care,
Nina
I gained 15 pounds at that point with the problem, I have lost all the weight now.

Name: Nina Subject: Foods to consider...Dear Ati
Dear Ati,
I really understand where you are coming from, I am here to give you all the help I can, I will do my very best.
Here are a list of foods the herbalist I spoke to told me to avoid...
Avoid sugar, white flour and other refined or processed foods. Instead, use whole wheat flour...
Eat these foods in moderation:
cabbage
broccoli
turnips
spinach
kale
brussels sprouts
peaches
pears
...remember...moderately take these foods. If your situation is more severe, decrease you intake of those foods listed above even more.
Distilled water is good for you to drink.
!also...avoid sulfa drugs and antihistamines except under doctor's orders...those chemicals are not aiding in thyroid conditions.
These are the foods that are recommended...if there are dietary restrictions, at least eat those foods that you can have.
Molasses--this is great as a substitude for sweeteners
egg yolks-cooked in your favorite dish or eaten alone cooked.
parsley-add it whatever you can
apricots--yummy
dates--yummy
prunes--yummy
raw milk, chicken, fish, and chesse are fine to eat. I like the idea that these foods are good to help you with thyroid problems.
Please keep me updated,
Sincerely,
Nina
