Problems in School:Teacher almost daily punishes my 5.5 yrs old
2008-06-17
Name: Mother

My son is in Senior KG, and he is full of energy. Teacher punishes him everyday as he completes his classwork a little late( as he gets distracted) by making sit on the floor. He is asked to sit on the floor and complete his work. How should I handle this ? I did meet the teacher..did not help, also parents can say only to a certian extend. we all live in the fear as not let teacher go against our child.
This school is one of the good schools in Mumbai

Kids need an outlet for their energy.
Try and find things they like to do. One thing is pretend play helps a lot.
You can check out this where you can get stuff for them.

hi,
i can understand your concern. do try and talk to the teacher and understand her problem - and explain your concern.
if that does not work- talk to her supervisor.
if your child starts to hate school from kindergarten because of an insensitive teacher - you will have a tough time later.
besides that - if a KG teacher cannot put up with active children and resorts to humiliation as a discipline tool...you should bring it to the notice of the authorities or seriously reconsider the choice of school. reputed does not mean good!!!

Kids should learn to fall in line with other school mates. It is better NOT to interfere as teachear in NOT biased and simply targeting ur child.

However there is a solution like try meeting the teacher and pass on some gift like drumsticks ,raw mango etc to her saying that, they r fr ur farm.

This will make her chage here role from that of policing to that of a mentor !
