Sujata replied. Hi,
I took my baby to an eye specialist last month and I was told that no research has shown till date that tv can badly affect eyesight. Still for healthier growth, less tv is better.
Also, dont be worried show to your Dr. as I did. Mostly it is false (pseudostromboisis) squint and goes away as child grows up.
Hetal replied. generally its not recommended by aap to let your baby watch tv for more than 2 hours at a strech ! so thats for sure, there were some research done that have been harmful to the baby eyes.
however, if you are staying alone with not much people who can take care of your baby, take care of him, or provide human interactions, its quite natural on our part to let him watch tv when we are busy with things around...
just make sure that the distance between his eyes and tv is maximum to tthe area you can let him play !
also, about squint eyes,,babies have that until 1 year,,as and when they mature, their eye coordination also becomes stronger and they can control it..there is nothing to worry about it.
if its bothering you, give him eye exercises,,nothing like serious,,just take a toy and talk to him, and move your hand from his left to right,,likewise, he will watch the toy and practise his cordination,,he will also try to catch it,,so its a playtime exercise...
if still worries you, talk to your dr,,he will answer you best.
good luck

RE: Eczema concern
Hello,
I had a similar query a few months ago concerning eczema occuring in toddlers. As far as I know, it can be due to a varrying number of factors and common foods that end up causing the condition in 1-2 year old toddlers.
In my research I found this article really helpful in addressing the problem:
