hi
i am a mother of a nine year boy studying in class 4th.
the problem is that every time i go to parent teacher meeting , i get this complaint that he is not able to do his classwork on time. earlier mainly this problem was with hindi but now i am facing it for all subjects. he is trying hard to complete his class work and some where he is achieving this also. but now the problem is with his exams.in his final exams he could not complete his maths and hindi exam. although he got a grade in all the subjects but still i am worried. yesterday in his terminal exams, he could not attempt ques. of 5 marks and started crying in the class.can anyone help me out and suggest some remedy or a plan of action so that my son gets benefitted.

You must feel desperate... but i have learnt with my two kids that any problem faced positively is ultimately solved...
sometimes the solution lies in not making an issue of it.
If he began to cry in class he must already have a good idea that he is not able to cope. Immediately focus on what he is good at ... is he good at narrating ...observing ... calculating...representing or imagining?
Divert his attentionso he feels good about himself first (without patronising him)...
Spreading the fingers of the palm, and the toes like a fan in one plane is a really fantastic stretch i learnt thru iyengar yoga and it may help your son ...
walking on his hands if you hold his legs up may be fun and also helps stimulate the development of hands and arms.
I have read it helps children with motor activity and also stimulates neuron growth.

Good Luck
