Hi,
My son sudhanva is now 2months old & he is both breast & formula feeding. Can any one tell me what is the approximate amount of milk they take per day. I give him 60% of breast milk & 40% of formula. From when can i start giving him Solid food like gerber, even though Pediatricians here say many things i dont want to reply on them completely.
Thanks
Sandhya

hi sandhya,

dont worry abt shots. u will be asked to give tylenol drops to ur kid. give that 2-3 times a day. he will be alright. they will be drowsy or cranky for this first set of shots only. after that they will be normal.

regarding milk intake, my son used to have 3-4 oz of breastmilk/formula at his 2nd month. but, every baby is diff. ur kid will let u know how much he needs.

love,
jichi

hi sandhya,
U should not start giving your baby solid food or anything apart from milk before the age of four mknths. infact if u r breast feeding u can delay solid food to six months. the digestive system and swallowing capacity of babies dont develop before this age, so it will be like torture for him.

as for the quantity of milk, u shold be giving him as much he wants, but develop a pattern, say every two hours.

best of luck!
i have a eight months old son and live in delhi! tell me more about u!

hi sandhya and mom!!

of course u have to increse the milk quantity as the baby grows. by the time my son was 5 montshold he used to ask for milk every three hours.and by that time thy also start eating something so in between the three hours u cd feed them.

my son is eight months old now and i stay in delhi.sandhya, dont worry about the shots, he'll be fine! these shots are essential. best of luck!! and keep posting!!

Hi Sandhya and Ruchi.

I have a little boy too and breasfed him about 2 months that's when he was on a 2-21/2 hour schedule. He was getting 2 to 3 ozs and gradually increased to 4 -5 ozs. I think we should gradually increase the intake as well as the timing between feeds or else as they grow their bodies get accustomed to the 2 hour schedule and that can be tedious! Also shouldn't their stomach get used to taking more milk as they grow? What do you think?

Hi Ruchi,
I stay in US & sudhanva is 2 months now. Was wondering if babies will still follow that 2hr time pattern even after 2 months. Tomorrow he has a Doc appointment & will get 4 shots, bit worried about it that he might have Fever after that.
How about your son, when was he born?
